ABOUT THE BAKERY

Marx Bakery is New Zealand's first Gluten and Wheat Free Bakery. We are solely dedicated to producing a wide variety of gluten, wheat and dairy free products. All bakery products are baked on site at 15 Maskell Street, St Heliers Bay, Auckland.

Marx was started by Mark Stevenson who has baked all around the world and was until two years ago, baking designer bread. After tasting a gluten free loaf which a regular customer had requested he make from a pre mix, Mark decided there was no way he could sell bread that tasted that bad and set off to find a way to make a more edible gluten free loaf. After much trial and error he came up with a gluten, wheat and dairy free bread recipe which is arguably the best in the world.

From here many more products have developed, such as savoury and fruit pies, cakes, biscuits, bagel crisps and lamingtons.
